Memorial Day Fishing Trip

On Monday Pop, Kelly and I took the boys fishing. We went to a place that Pop knew we could catch lots of fish and we did! I think Pop and Kelly were exhausted from re-fixing hooks by days end, but we had lots of fun!

Kelly and his Dad work to get a catfish on the stringer. He was a feisty one!

Playing around with Dad!

Actually, we're not supposed to be riding ATV's in our neighborhood, but sometimes the boys get to go for a spin. Kelly had just gotten back from riding with friends and the boys wanted a ride to the end of the street. They think they are super cool! (I think they are as well).

Austin Just chillin'.

Jackson's end of the year carnival and party

Jacksons preschool class had their end of the year party and carnival on Thursday. They got to go to the gym to play games for prizes. After the carnival we went back to their classroom for a graduation party! They enjoyed Happy meals and a graduation cake!!

Jackson and one of his favorite friends display their dinosaur face paint and lightning bolt arms.

Jackson and Blake help their teacher, Ms. Liz pick up bowling pins. Ms. Liz has been an awesome teacher this year!! It was really a a bittersweet day. We have been going to this preschool for 2 years. It is such a great school. Jackson has been in class with some of these kids both years. A lot of them we will still see at church, though.

Track and Field Day

Every year at the end of school Austin's school holds a track and field day for each grade. The kids each get to choose 4 events to participate in. There are also some class events such as the scooter relay and tug of war. Austin was in soccer, basketball, volleyball and batting this year. He won 2 first place ribbons and a second and a third. We had very nice weather this year. Sometimes it is very hot! This photo is Austin in the scooter relay. The three fourth grade classes lined up and had to ride the scooter board on their stomachs around some cones and back to the line. I don't think I could have done it!

The highlight of the day is always the tug of war. This is Austin's class after winning! They had to beat both other fourth grade classes to be champions. Way to go Ms. Tucker's class!!

Jackson enjoying the events from his perch on this climber. Next year in kindergarten he will get to have a field day!

Mother's Day

We had a wonderful day on Mother's Day this year. I have been so busy with the boys end of school activities, I am just getting around to posting about it. After church we went to my sisters for a cookout with my family. We had a good time and lots of good food! The boys always love to visit with their cousins. After that we drove to Searcy to Kelly's Mom and Dad's house. Grandmother Chitty was visiting them for the week, so we were blessed to get to spend time with her also. We all decided to drive out to their Cabin to cook hot dogs and visit awhile longer. Kelly decided it would be fun to take the canoes out on the lake, so off we went. The boys had a great time. They love going out to their Grandparent's cabin and got to roast marshmallows also. It was so great to get to visit with Grandmother Chitty. The boys adore her, and really enjoyed listening to her tell us the stories of how she and Popper met, and stories of what things were like when she was a girl. Well, actually Austin enjoyed the stories. Jackson spent most of his time running through the woods with Duke wielding a pirate sword. We had a great day.

Duke is always there to lend a paw!

Soccer Saturday

Saturday both boys had soccer games. They were at the same time, so I only got shots of Jackson playing. (Kelly was at Austin's game most of the time. ) It was my turn to serve snacks at Jackson's game. Pop and Duke came to watch. Duke is a Supah Star! Everyone wants to meet and pet him. He is pretty agreeable with that. He really likes kids.

Pop and Duke watching the game.

Jackson gets a licking!

We had a good day!

Spring Carnival / International Day

Austin's school held there annual Spring Festival today. I take pictures for his school, so I was there most of the day photographing the festivities. We always go with an international theme. We have several students from other countries, so that way the kids get to celebrate the other kids heritage and learn a little about other countries. The kids rotate through different activities all day such as music from another country, art, science, etc. One stop is carnival type games in the gym. This is Austin and his friend Dylan working the Fear Factor booth. Some of the fourth graders get to help out. They had a great time!

Meeting Of The Minds

Last Friday Austin's GT class participated in the the fourth grade district Quiz Bowl. Gt students from all the elementary schools in town were invited to compete. I went to watch and was amazed at the knowledge of all these kids! Our kids did great, and they all received medals.
